De pijpenmaker die onder het merk CAS produceerde, is tot op heden onbekend. Er zijn pijpen bekend met reliëfversieringen van Hoop en Vrouwe Justitia, waarbij zich aan de linkerzijde van de ketel de initialen CAS bevinden. Daarnaast zijn pijpen bekend waarop uitsluitend de initialen CAS zijn aangebracht.

Het productiecentrum van deze pijpen is vooralsnog niet met zekerheid vastgesteld. Op basis van de relatief hoge kwaliteit van de reliëfversiering kan Gouda als een mogelijke productieplaats worden beschouwd. De pijpen zijn in ieder geval afkomstig uit Zuid-Holland. Op grond van de vormgeving, decoratie en stilistische kenmerken kunnen zij globaal worden gedateerd in de periode 1710–1740.

The pipe maker who produced under the mark CAS remains unidentified to date. Pipes are known bearing relief decorations depicting Hope and Lady Justice, with the initials CAS positioned on the left side of the bowl. In addition, pipes are known bearing only the initials CAS.

The production centre of these pipes has not yet been established with certainty. Based on the relatively high quality of the relief decoration, Gouda may be considered a possible place of manufacture. The pipes are, in any case, known to originate from South Holland. On the basis of their form, decoration, and stylistic characteristics, they can be broadly dated to the period 1710–1740.
