Jan Versluijs was pijpenmaker in Gouda en legde op 27 mei 1732 zijn gildeproef af. Hij was werkzaam van 1732 tot aan zijn overlijden in 1766. Zijn weduwe zette het bedrijf na zijn dood nog korte tijd voort in 1766. Het merk dat zij gebruikte was Man in het Schildershuis, zowel zonder als met de initialen IS.

Jan Versluijs was a pipe maker in Gouda and passed his guild examination on 27 May 1732. He was active from 1732 until his death in 1766. Following his death, his widow continued the business for a short period in 1766. The mark she used was Man in the Painter’s House, both without and with the initials IS.
