NIKKO 1989-1993

In the English town of Barnstaple, Devon, Nick Magnum started a clay pipe workshop around 1989-1990, which closed in 1993. The business was located at 51 Bear Street and operated under the name NIKKO CLAY PIPES. In total, approximately 20 models were produced. The pipes were sold in boxes bearing this brand name, accompanied by a note in which Magnum explained the process of making clay pipes. With his products, he aimed to inspire collectors, using the slogan, "HAND MADE VICTORIAN DESIGN – Start Your Own Pipe Collection Today!" on the packaging. His products are identifiable by the logo—a letter N within an O. Notably, he painted the eyes on faces black to add expressiveness.

Thanks to David Higgins and Heather Devona for their assistance with the identification and the photo of the packaging.
